Who is Keith Rowley?

Dr. Keith Christopher Rowley is the Leader of Opposition and Member of the House of Representatives for Diego Martin West in the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago. A geologist by training, Dr. Rowley has been the representative for Diego Martin West since 1991.

A former pupil of Bishop's High School, Tobago and a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Dr. Rowley first served in Parliament as an Opposition Senator from 1987-1990, was appointed Minister of Agriculture, Land and Marine Resources, Minister of Planning and Development and Minister of Housing and Minister of Trade and Industry until he was fired by then Prime Minister Patrick Manning.

Following the People's National Movement's defeat in the Trinidad and Tobago general election, 2010, Dr. Rowley was appointed Opposition Leader of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Dr. Rowley has served on several Parliamentary committees. In 2004 he chaired the Joint Select Committee of Parliament which examined and made recommendations for the live broadcasting of Parliamentary debates.

Dr. Rowley is married and a father of two children.
