Who is Atatoa Herman?

Atatoa Herman is a Cook Islands politician and member of the Cook Islands Parliament. He is a member of the Cook Islands Party.

Herman is a former public servant, serving as Secretary of Works between 2003 and 2008. He was elected to the seat of Ngatangiia at the 2010 election. In May 2011 he was made associate minister for the environment.

Herman is the Cook Islands most qualified Engineer with a Phd of Civil Engineering, University Of Canterbury. He lives with his wife and children

History Herman was born 2nd December 1959 in Rarotonga, Cook Islands. Herman is the eldest son of the late Mikara Samuel and Metuaiviivitoa Herman. He is the eldest of 10 children. Herman attended school in Auckland, New Zealand, then shifted to the Cook Islands as a student at Avarua Primary school, senior student at Avatea Primary school then college at Tereora College. Herman was the Rugby League Captain for local club Tupapa Panthers for 5 years where he and his team held the defending champion cup during his time as captain. He was also the Captain of the National Cook Islands team where he became a national player. After his many sports achievements,He left to New Zealand to study his Phd of Civil Engineering at the University of Canterbury. He lives with his family in the Rarotonga. He is married to wife Teremoana Rairi. 2010 he won the election as Member of Parliament for Nagatangiia. He and Teremoana had 7 children together. He is a very successful and humble man.
