Who is Abu-Shakur Balkhi?
Abu Shakur Balkhi was a Persian poet of the 10th century in Samanid era, an empire originating from Balkh.
He was a contemporary of Rudaki, and wrote three mathnavis, the work Āfarin nama among them. Only one hundred ninety-two scraps of his verses remain today.
