Who was Alf Tinkler?
Alfred "Alf" Tinkler was an English professional footballer who played as a centre half. He made over 100 appearances in all competitions for Second Division club Birmingham over four years. Tinkler was born in Manchester and died in Croydon, Surrey. He also played in the Football League for Derby County, and in non-League football for Ilkeston United, in two spells, and Heanor United.
