Amanda Beatriz Olivares Phillip is a former Miss Mexico who represented her country in the 1988 Miss Universe pageant, held in Taipei, Taiwan on May 23, 1988 and obtained the second runner-up spot.
During Miss Universe, Amanda Olivares was also the only contestant from the Americas, as well as the only non-Asian to make it into the top five that year. The winner, Porntip Nakhirunkanok of Thailand, and the remaining three were all Asian. To this day, and after the victories of Lupita Jones and Ximena Navarrete in 1991 and 2010, respectively, Olivares remains the second highest placing Mexican delegate in Miss Universe history.
