Who was Carla Accardi?
Carla Accardi was an Italian painter who contributed significantly to the acceptance of abstract art in Italy.
In 1947, she co-founded the Forma 1 Marxist-inspired art movement with Ugo Attardi, Pietro Consagra, Piero Dorazio, Mino Guerrini, Achille Perilli, Antonio Sanfilippo and Giulio Turcato. She first exhibited in the United States in 2001 at MoMA PS1.
