Who was Chetzemoka?
Chetzemoka was a S'Klallam chief who lived in the vicinity of Port Townsend, WA from 1808 to 1888. He came to be chief after his brother, S'Hai-ak, drowned soon after the arrival of European-American settlers. Chief Chetzemoka was influential in the establishment of the Port Townsend settlement, befriending the settlers and signing the Treaty of Point No Point in 1855.
