Who was J. Esmonde Barry?
Joseph Esmonde Barry was a prominent healthcare activist and political commentator in New Brunswick, Canada. Perhaps best known as the voice of the Friends of St. Joseph's, an organisation which was instrumental in keeping St. Joseph's Hospital open in Saint John's uptown. Barry also lobbied for compensation for those involved in the hepatitis C tainted blood scandal of the 1980s.
