Who is Johan Ulvenlöv?
Johan Ulvenlöv is a Swedish political online strategist, currently working at the Swedish Trade Union Confederation. Between 2011-2013 he worked for Unionen, the world's largest white-collar trade union. Most notable he has been responsible for the Swedish Social Democrats' Socialdemokraterna commitment to advocacy in social media during the election campaigns of 2006 and 2010. He has built and organized the Swedish blog network Netroots and participated as speaker at Netroots Nation and Netroots UK. Also he has been active supporting the opposition in Belarus and helping trade unions to organize online in Hungary. He is the author of the book Netroots, a progressive blog movement that set the agenda, where also the famous American blogger John Aravosis participates.
During the final stages of the Swedish Election 2010 the Swedish Netroots organization played a crucial role in raising the social security issue. Using blogs, Twitter and Facebook, a young girl's blogpost about her sick mom losing health insurance was widely spread and shifted focus of the election.
