Who is John Andrews?
John Andrews is a Republican politician in Colorado, United States, having served as state senator from 1998 to 2005. The founder of the Independence Institute, Andrews has also served at the national level as a speechwriter for Richard Nixon, as an education appointee by President Ronald Reagan, and on a foreign scholarships commission for President George W. Bush. Andrews has also stood as the chairman of the State Policy Network, the director of TCI Cable News, and the original host of Backbone Radio. The American Legislative Exchange Council honored him as "National Legislator of the Year", while the Rocky Mountain Family Council singled him out as "Family Legislator of the Year." Currently, Andrews does daily commentary for Colorado Public Television, writes for the Denver Post, and is Director of Centennial Institute, a state based public policy think tank based on the campus of Colorado Christian University. He is also the author of the new book, Responsibility Reborn: A Citizen’s Guide to the Next American Century. As a former chairman of State Policy Network, he consults widely for legislative leaders.
