Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was ordained a priest for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston on April 11, 1951. He was appointed bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA on December 10, 1991 and was ordained bishop on January 6, 1992. Bishop Glynn retired on August 13, 2002.
