Who is John Lyons?
John Lyons is an Irish Labour Party politician. Lyons was elected as a Teachta Dála for the Dublin North–West constituency at the 2011 general election. He was previously a member of Dublin City Council from 2008 to 2011 representing the Ballymun-Finglas area.
He studied at NUI Maynooth gaining a BA and HDip, he subsequently studied special education at Trinity College, Dublin.
He is openly gay and was one of the first two openly LGBT members of Dáil Éireann, along with Meath East's Dominic Hannigan.
