Who is John Rowlands?
John Rowlands is a Welsh language author of several controversial novels. He is also a retired Professor of Welsh Literature. He graduated in Welsh from Bangor in 1959 and went on to lecture at Abertawe/Swansea, Coleg y Drindod, Caerfyrddin, Llanbedr Pont Steffan and Aberystwyth, in retirement he has worked on creative writing courses at Bangor.
His academic work includes editing a major literary series 'Y Meddwl a'r Dychymyg Cymreig' and numerous volumes and papers. He has been one of the most prolific judges in the Eisteddfod literary competitions and is probably the foremost critic in Welsh on Welsh. He also contributes a regular column to the magazine Barn and is a wine and restaurant critic.
