Joseph V. Manjooran was widely known as “Manjooran Master” and was an educator, social worker, and politician of central Kerala, India.

Born at Chakkarakadavu in 1899. Joseph V. Manjooran after completing his preliminary studies from Ernakulam went on and took M.A. Litt, from St. Joseph’s College, Tiruchirapalli. He joined St. Albert’s High School at Ernakulam as the Headmaster and continued in the position for an unbroken span for the next 32 years. Then he was called upon in 1964 to serve as the first Headmaster of the newly incepted Rajagiri High School at Kalamassery, Ernakulam where he discharged his duties until his retirement in 1976.

A strict disciplinarian, ‘Manjooran Master’ brought order and repute to the institutions that were placed under his tutelage including the initiation of the famed unbroken streak of 100% pass in S.S.L.C. results of Rajagiri High School from the very year of its inception in 1964.

‘Manjooran Master’ also got elected as Municipal Counselor from Ernakulam besides adorning other responsible positions like the President of the District Cooperative Bank, President of Land Mortgage Bank, and the President of St. Vincent D’Paul Society from 1954-1962.
