Who is Josh Hall?
Josh Hall is a British yachtman specializing in single handed ocean racing. He was noted for his 9th place in the 2000-2001 edition of the Vendée Globe.
In 1994 during the Charleston to Cape Town leg of the 'BOC Challenge', his yacht, 'Gartmore Investment Managers', collided with an unidentified object and started sinking. Josh Hall was able to communicate his exact location to the race organization and the Australia skipper Alan Nebauer, who was competing in the 50 foot class was able to rescue Hall within 10 hours of being notified of the alert.
