Who is Julian Bennett?
Julian Bennett is a British archeologist.
Bennett received his PhD in the field of Roman archeology at Newcastle University in 1991. The title of his thesis was The Setting, Development and Function of the Hadrianic Frontier in Britain. In 1995 Bennett became a professor at Bilkent University in Ankara. His area of expertise are provincial and military Roman archeology and late Roman and Byzantine architecture in Turkey. He wrote several books among them a biography of the Roman emperor Trajan. In 2002 Bennet was elected into the Society of Antiquaries of London.
