Who is Kevin Mullin?

Kevin Mullin is an American politician currently serving in the California State Assembly. He is a Democrat representing the 22nd district, encompassing the cities of Belmont, Brisbane, Burlingame, Foster City, Hillsborough, Millbrae, Pacifica, Redwood City, San Bruno, San Carlos, San Mateo and portions of South San Francisco.

Prior to being elected to the state assembly, Kevin was a South San Francisco city councilmember and Mayor, a local business owner, and former state legislative aide.

Kevin's roots run deep in San Mateo County. He attended public and Catholic elementary schools, graduated from Junipero Serra High School, received a bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of San Francisco, and a master's degree in public administration from San Francisco State University. Additionally, Mullin completed an executive leadership program at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.

Kevin was elected in 2007 to the South San Francisco City Council, and served as mayor in 2011. He was re-elected in 2011. Mullin also represented the cities of San Mateo County on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.

He previously served as district director for then-State Senator Jackie Speier and as political director for his father, former State Assemblymember Gene Mullin.
