Who is Luis Fernando Macias?
Luis Fernando Macias Hernandez is a Mexican professional cyclist. He was the champion of Mexico sub-23 time trial in 2005. Competing in the Spanish Alfus-Tedes amateur team, he won in Week Aragonesa1. He returned to Mexico in 2006 to compete for the Continental team Chivas Cycling Team and a year later Tecos-Trek. In 2008 he was Mexican road champion and he won the silver medal at the Pan American Cycling Championships, also in testing rout.
After the disappearance of the Tecos-Trek team in late 2009, for the 2010 season he signed with the American Rock Racing. The team had requested a position as a Professional Continental but was refused and was eventually downgraded to amateur. Macias also competed for the team and the Tour of Mexico won the fourth lap. At the end of the year, he left the team and joined the Mexican team, also amateur, and participated in Canel's Turbo Tour of Guatemala. For the 2011 season, Macias returned to professional cycling with the Movistar Continental Team.
