Who is Maipady Venkatesh Varma Raja?
Maipady Venkatesh Varma Raja officially Ramantharasugal - XI, and popularly known as the Raja of Maipady and he was the last Monarch of the Principality of Maipady Seeme which roughly comprised the area of present Kasaragod taluk of Kasaragod district, Kerala, India and some neighbouring regions. He died on 10 June 1994.Kumble was originally ruled by "Ikkeri Kings" and not Maipady kings.Kumble kings was defeated before 1850.Relatives of them built Kumble railway bridge but they don't have the proof today.Family of kumble kings are presently settled near Kumble fort their cast is called Koteyars,they are Kshatriyas not Brahmins.
