Who is Matteo Pistono?

Matteo Pistono is a writer and a practitioner of engaged Buddhism, especially in connection with Tibet. He is the author of Fearless in Tibet: The Life of the Mystic Tertön Sogyal" and In the Shadow of the Buddha: Secret Journeys, Sacred Histories, and Spiritual Discovery in Tibet, and has written on the subject of Tibet and the culture and politics of the Himalayan region for a number of publications including The Washington Post, Global Post, BBC's In-Pictures, Men's Journal, Kyoto Journal, and Himal Southasian.
