Who is Bonnie Urquhart Gruenberg?
Bonnie Urquhart Gruenberg is an artist, photographer, author, and certified nurse-midwife. Bonnie Urquhart Gruenberg is well-known in midwifery circles as the author of the award-winning book Birth Emergency Skills Training. Born in Rhode Island in 1963, she was raised in Southington, Connecticut, and later worked as a paramedic in central Connecticut. After attending the University of Pennsylvania to obtain a MSN in midwifery, she authored two books on managing childbirth emergencies. Essentials of Prehospital Maternity Care for EMS providers, and Birth Emergency Skills Training for out-of-hospital midwives. She has studied the wild horses of the Eastern seaboard coast since 1994, and in 2002 published Hoofprints in the Sand: Wild Horses of the Atlantic Coast. Her current projects include a comprehensive treatise detailing the history and present management concerns of each of the Atlantic coastal herds. She resides in central Pennsylvania with her husband.
