Who was Christian Albrecht Jackhelln?
Christian Albrecht Jackhelln was a Dano-Norwegian businessperson and politician.
He was born in Aalborg, Denmark. In 1816 he married Anne Fredrikke Winther, daughter of the district surgeon Johan Friederich Winter in Alstahaug. They settled in Bodin, and had several children.
He worked as a merchant. He established his own company, named Christian Jakhelln, which was taken over by his son Carl Johan, and later by his son Christian Albrecht Jakhelln.
Jackhelln was elected to the Norwegian Parliament in 1833 from the constituency of Nordlands Amt. He was later re-elected in 1845 and 1851.
