Who is Dave Machemer?
David Ritchie Machemer is an American professional baseball scout, and a former professional player and minor league manager. He played in 29 games, mostly as a second baseman, over two seasons for the California Angels and Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball. He is currently a special assignment scout for the Baltimore Orioles.
Machemer is a native of St. Joseph, Michigan. His pro career began in June 1972 when he was selected by the Angels in the fourth round of the amateur draft. He threw and batted right-handed, stood 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed 180 pounds. Over his 11-season minor league playing career, he batted .277 with 1,078 hits in 1,126 games played.
