Who is David McDonough?
David G. McDonough represents District 14 in the New York State Assembly, which comprises Merrick, Bellmore, Seaford, Wantagh and parts of Levittown communities located within Nassau County, New York. Elected to the State Assembly in a Special Election held Tuesday, February 12, 2002 and was re-elected to his seventh term in November of 2012.
Assemblyman McDonough is the Chairman of an Assembly Task Force on Public Safety and as such is working with various agencies including the United States Department of Homeland Security, FBI, Secret Service, police and law enforcement and the courts, volunteer firefighters and emergency services, veterans and military personnel, sex offender watch and workforce issues in the correctional services. He is an Associate Board Member of the New York State chapter of InfraGard, an FBI Public-Private Partnership. Assemblyman McDonough is the Ranking Member on the Assembly Transportation Committee and in addition, serves on the Health, Education, Veterans Affairs and Consumer Affairs Committees. He is also a member of the Nassau County Executive’s Task Force on Family Violence.
