Who is Denise Page Hood?

Denise Page Hood is a United States federal judge.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Hood received a B.A. from Yale University in 1974 and a J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1977. She was an Assistant corporation counsel, City of Detroit, Michigan Law Department from 1977 to 1982. She was a judge on the 36th District Court, State of Michigan from 1983 to 1989. She was a judge on the Recorder's Court, City of Detroit, Michigan from 1989 to 1992. She was a judge on the Michigan Circuit Court, Wayne County, Michigan from 1993 to 1994.

Hood is a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Hood was nominated by President Bill Clinton on March 9, 1994, to a seat vacated by George E. Woods. She was confirmed by the United States Senate on June 15, 1994, and received her commission on June 16, 1994.
