Who was Edward H. Brooks?
Edward Hale Brooks was an officer in the United States Army and a veteran of World War I, World War II and the Korean War. He received the Distinguished Service Cross for heroism as a young officer in World War I and commanded the 2nd Armored Division "Hell on Wheels" during the Normandy Invasion as well as the VI Corps during the subsequent defeat of German forces in World War II.
