George Perry Mahoney was an Irish American Catholic building contractor and Dixiecrat politician from the State of Maryland. A perennial candidate, Mahoney is perhaps most famous as the Democratic Party nominee for Governor of Maryland in 1966 and for his campaign slogan, "Your home is your castle; protect it."
