Who was George W. Mitchell?
George Wilder Mitchell was an American economist, who served as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from May 1973 to February 1976. Before that he was a Federal Reserve Governor for 12 years and a long-time staffer at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He was an early promoter of electronic banking.
