Who is Gerard Greene?
Gerard Greene is a left-handed Northern Irish professional snooker player. He has represented Northern Ireland in international events, as his parents are from Belfast. He lives in Rainham in Medway. He has enjoyed moderate success in his career, with a high ranking of 26 and has reached one final, as well as one semi-final and four quarter-finals. He also reached the final of the 2011 World Cup as a part of the Northern Irish team together with Mark Allen, where they lost to China.
Greene has qualified for the World Championship five times without winning a match at the Crucible Theatre, although he has twice drawn the defending champion –.
He had an extraordinary match in the 1996 Grand Prix, going in-off on the final black to decide the frame three times in a 5–0 defeat to Davis, who called him "the unluckiest man in the snooker world".
