Who was Gheorghe Cialâk?
Gheorghe Cialâk was a Romanian Lieutenant-General during World War II. In 1941, he became General Officer Commanding 4th Division. The following year, he would serve as General Officer Commanding 7th Corps area and General Officer Commanding Cavalry Corps. Cialâk was arrested in 1944, retired in 1945, and was acquitted and released in 1946. However, he was arrested again in 1951 and charged with crimes against humanity. He was ultimately released in 1955.
