Who was Ghiyathu'd-Din ibn Rashid'ud-Din?

Ghiyathu'd-Din ibn Rashid'ud-Din Fad‘lu'llah was an Ilkhanate politician, the son of Rashid-al-Din Hamadani, a Jewish convert to Islam.

He was the mayor of the Ilkhanate palace, in the era of the sultan Abu Sa'id.

He was murdered because of the struggle for succession.

He was a patron of literature. The sumptuously illustrated Great Mongol Shahnameh, was probably made for him.
