Gwilym Prys Prys-Davies, Baron Prys-Davies is a Welsh politician and Labour life peer in the House of Lords.
A founder member of the Welsh Socialist Republican Movement, he has long been a strong advocate of devolution for his native Wales. He was raised to the peerage on 9 February 1983 as Baron Prys-Davies, of Llanegryn in the County of Gwynedd. In the Lords, he served as Opposition frontbench spokesperson for Health between 1983 and 1987, Northern Ireland between 1982 and 1993 and the Welsh Office between 1987 and 1997.
