Who was Ingen?

Ingen Ryūki was a Chinese Linji Chán Buddhist monk, poet, and calligrapher. He is most known for founding the Ōbaku school of Zen Buddhism in Japan. Ingen's name in Chinese was Yinyuan Longqi.
