Who is Jacques Bompard?
Jacques Bompard is a French politician. Bompard is the mayor of Orange, elected in June 1995 and reelected in 2001 and 2008. He was originally a member of the Front National, but left the party in 2005. He joined the Mouvement pour la France later the same year. In 2010 he left the MPF, claiming that the party had grown too close to the presidential party UMP. In the 2010 regional elections Bompard associated himself with the Bloc identitaire.
He was elected member of the National Assembly of France between 1986 and 1988 on a National Front list. He was again elected on 17 June 2012.
