Who was Jens Erichstrup?
Jens Erichstrup was a Norwegian politician.
Hailing from Skien, he took an education in law and graduated as cand.jur. in 1798. He was appointed bailiff of Lister in 1810.
He was elected to the Norwegian Constituent Assembly in 1814, representing the constituency of Lister Amt. He returned in 1818 to serve in the Norwegian Parliament.
The same year he was appointed bailiff in Laurvig. He soon became acting County Governor of Jarlsbergs og Laurvigs Amt. While serving here, he was elected to the Norwegian Parliament in 1821 and 1824. Erichstrup was then County Governor of Rogalands Amt from 1825 to his death.
