Who is Jeremiah of Wallachia?

Jeremiah of Wallachia was born in a village in Moldavia in the family of Margaret Male and Stoica Costişte. He was a Capuchin friar who was beatified by Pope John Paul II on 30 October 1983.

About Jeremiah's life spent in Walachia Walachia Minor does not know many details may be because it was simply a man out for 18 years to become holy. At the age of 18 years, John left home without their parents wanted "to learn and mîntuirea" and almost close, his destiny will lead him to Italy, to Naples. On 8 May 1579 in the old monastery Efrem Napoli in the order of Capuchin, monks will begin full service of dedication of the "great Lord." Before his death, he will be devoted to God, the poor and sick and is distinguished by a charity which will be based on a stroke of his life in hospitals and serve lepers. Hearing, a defeat that will own the divine will, was a source country and giving of themselves that have characterized the life of a monk 40 years, living in a sovereign simplicity sometimes taken to extreme.
