Who is Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate?

Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate is a classical composer and pianist. He is one of a handful of American Indian classical composers and won an Emmy Award in 2011. His compositions are inspired by American Indian history and culture; he has been commissioned to write new works and has had pieces premiered by major orchestras across the country.

In addition, he has directed the Chickasaw Chamber Music Festival and served as Composer-in-Residence at numerous institutions, including the San Francisco Symphony. Through the American Composers Forum, he has taught composition to American Indian students in Minneapolis and premiered a newly commissioned concerto with the community orchestra.
