Who is Jérôme Rivière?

Jérôme Rivière is a French politician. and now lawyer member of the Paris Bar Association since 2006

A former member of DL and then the UMP, he supported the right-wing, eurosceptic, souverainiste Movement for France presidential candidacy of Philippe de Villiers in 2007.

He represented Alpes Maritimes' 1st constituency from 2002 to 2007 as a member of the UMP, part first of The Free Right faction and then the National Centre of Independents and Peasants, a party formerly affiliated with the UMP. However, he endorsed MPF candidate Philippe de Villiers in the French presidential election, 2007 over his party's candidate, the eventual winner, Nicolas Sarkozy. He was defeated running as a right-wing independent in his constituency against the UMP's official candidate and eventual winner Éric Ciotti.

In 2009, the MPF-Libertas selected him to lead the list in the Île-de-France constituency ahead of the 2009 European elections.

Rivière is an alumnus of the ISG business school.
