Who is John A. Kuri?
John A. Kuri is a United States author and writer, film and television producer, and director. He is the son of Emile Kuri, twice Oscar® winning and eight-time nominated Set Decorator.
Among John's literary works are Takin’ It Back, a sports-themed inspirational novel, the historical novel Cheyenne Rising Sun, and the true story ROD.
Kuri's filmography has over 40 titles including his true story of the Donner Party, One More Mountain for Disney's Wonderful World of Color and ABC Television for which he received the Christopher Award, the classic Louis L’Amour western, Conagher, for which the National Cowboy Hall of Fame awarded him their Western Heritage Award, the MGM release starring Pat Morita "Captive Hearts", and he was "Emmy-nominated" for John Steinbeck's The Red Pony, starring Henry Fonda in 1973.
Kuri is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, a member of the Directors Guild of America, Writers Guild of America, and Art Directors Guild. He is active in digital media and is the founder of a video portal "staytunedtv".
