Who was John Carberry?
John Joseph Cardinal Carberry was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Archbishop of St. Louis from 1968 to 1979, and was created a cardinal in 1969. He previously served as Bishop of Lafayette in Indiana and Bishop of Columbus.
