Who was John Maclean?

John Maclean, was a Wesleyan pastor amongst the Indians of the Canadian Northwest. He was born in Scotland, then moved to Canada.

He learned the languages and customs of the Indians. He published: Lone Land lights,; James Evans, Inventor of the Syllabic System of the Cree Language,; The Indians of Canada,; Canadian Savage Folk,; Language and Religion,; Life among the Ojibwa and Cree Indians,; Life of William Black,; Winning the Front Place,.

He edited the Wesleyan and attained several important offices in his denomination.
