Who was Jorge Zalamea Borda?
Jorge Zalamea was a Colombian writer, best known for his anti-dictatorship satirical prose works. He was also an author of poems, dramas, novels, essays. He was awarded the Lenin Peace Prize in 1967.
In 1952, Zalamea published one of his most influential works, El gran Burudún-Burundá ha muerto, which took a satirical look at the then dictator of Colombia, Gustavo Rojas Pinilla.
