Who is José León?
José Geraldo León Vega is a former Major League Baseball third baseman who played for the Baltimore Orioles from 2002-2004. Since then, he has played in the Mexican League for the Campeche Pirates, Puebla Parrots, Oaxaca Warriors, and Quintana Roo Tigers.
León was once a highly regarded power-hitting prospect, but he never lived up to his early potential. He was selected for the World team in the 2000 All-Star Futures Game. León made the Mexican League All-Star team in 2006 batting .348 with 17 home runs and 49 RBI. He made the All-Star team again in 2007 batting .300 with 14 home runs and 46 RBI. In 2008, he played in only 28 games batting .279.
