Who is José Sanfilippo?
José Francisco "El Nene" Sanfilippo is a former Argentine footballer.
Sanfilippo was born in Buenos Aires. During his club career he played for San Lorenzo, Boca Juniors and Banfield in Argentina, Nacional in Uruguay, and Bangu and SC Bahia in Brazil.
He played for the Argentina national football team in the 1962 FIFA World Cup.
He scored more than 200 goals fo San Lorenzo between 1957 and 1962.
In 1963 he moved to Boca Juniors, although in 1964 he was dismissed from the club following a disciplinary incident in a match against his former club, San Lorenzo.
In 1972 Sanfilippo returned to San Lorenzo and took his place in the back to back championship squad that won the Metropolitano and the Nacional championships. At the end of the year he retired from football. At 1978, he played in the Club Atlético San Miguel, of the 4th. Division.
He is the 5th highest scoring player in Argentine football.
