Who is Julia Gran?

Julia Gran was born in New York City. She attended the High School of Art and Design where she majored in animation. Julia graduated from Parsons School of Design.

After graduation Julia worked as a designer and art director in a variety of design studios, and book, and magazine publishers. Working in the tradition of her influences Paul Rand and Saul Bass, Julia has combined her designer’s eye and whimsical illustration style. She has created brands for clients ranging from fashion and food to institutional.

Julia is a noted illustrator of children’s picture books. She wrote and illustrated Big Bug Surprise published by Scholastic Inc. She has illustrated numerous children’s books including Princess Penelope, and Princess Penelope Takes Charge. Julia’s illustrations can be seen internationally in books, magazines, newspapers, and advertising.

Julia’s work has appeared in numerous exhibits and she has won a variety awards for design and illustration.
