Who is Junius Foy Guin, Jr.?
Junius Foy Guin, Jr. is a United States federal judge.
Born in Russellville, Alabama, Guin was in the United States Army Lieutenant, Infantry during World War II, from 1943 to 1946. He received a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1947. He was in private practice in Russellville, Alabama from 1948 to 1973. He received an A.B. from the University of Alabama in 1975.
Guin was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Guin was nominated by President Richard Nixon on March 20, 1973, to a seat vacated by Clarence W. Allgood. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on April 10, 1973, and received his commission on April 18, 1973. He assumed senior status on February 3, 1989.
