Who was Justus and Pastor?
Saints Justus and Pastor are venerated as Christian martyrs. According to their Acts, they were two schoolboys who were killed for their faith during the persecution of Christians by the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Flogged and beheaded outside the Spanish city of Alcalá de Henares, they are today considered the patron saints of both Alcalá and Madrid. They are mentioned by Prudentius.
The Basilica of Saint Justus and Pastors in Barcelona is located at Rera Sant Just, no number, 08002 Barcelona, Spain. The basilica was erected in the 16th century in gothic style.
