Who was Louis Alexandre, Prince of Lamballe?
Louis Alexandre de Bourbon was the son and heir of Louis Jean Marie de Bourbon, grandson of Louis XIV by the king's legitimised son, Louis Alexandre de Bourbon. He was known as the Prince of Lamballe from birth. He was the husband of Princess Maria Luisa of Savoy, who after his death became a close friend of Queen Marie Antoinette, and was brutally murdered during the French Revolution. He pre-deceased his father, and died childless.
