Who is Marc Otte?
Marc Otte was the European Union's Special Representative to the Middle East peace process until 28 February 2011. As of 1 March 2011, his duties as EU envoy to the Middle East Quartet were covered temporarily by Helga Schmid - deputy secretary general for political affairs of the European diplomatic service. On 23 January 2012 Andreas Reinicke was appointed as the new European Union's Special Representative for the Middle East Peace process.
Marc Otte was supported by a team of EU diplomats.
