Who is Michal Heiman?
Michal Heiman is an Israeli artist, photographer, and art curator, a lecturer at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem as well as the Tel Aviv University Faculty of Arts.
In 1997 Heiman represented Israel at "Documenta X", Kassel, Germany. Her photographs are in the permanent collections of The Ian Potter Museum of Art in Melbourne, Australia and the Haifa Museum in Israel. She was exhibited at Rencontres d'Arles festival in 2005. Her work was also included in the 2007 show Dateline Israel: New Photography and Video Art, a decennial review of international art about Israel at the Jewish Museum in New York.
In 2011, Heiman was the first winner of the Shpilman Prize for Excellence in Photography, an annual prize awarded by the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and the Shpilman Art and Culture Foundation.
